The Macallan Master Series Dinner at Kayuputi

Many Bali five-star restaurants and hotels have organized some of the world’s best wine and fine dining events. And even by the sound of it is synonym to prestigious, it is getting a bit too common and too mainstream for the Bali residents. Here at The St. Regis Bali Resort, we proudly introduces a whisky and cigar dinner at the award-winning Kayuputi restaurant. Featuring the distinguished Macallan and one of the finest Cuban cigars, Cohiba, the event falls on Friday, 18 March 2016.

This will be the first time the resort held a whisky dinner and certainly has raised the bar high for five-star establishments in Bali. Dinner will be a five-course meal crafted by the talented Balinese Executive Chef Agung Gede, featuring premium Kiwami Wagyu beef striploin to decadent Valrhona bitter chocolate-raisin souffle. Each course will be paired with a distinctive Macalan from The Macallan 12 YO Sherry Oak, The Macallan 15 YO Fine Oak, The Macallan Whisky Makers Edition, The Macallan Rare Cask an The Macallan Reflexion. Curating this evening will be Keith Nair, Brand Trainer of the Edrington Group for South East Asia, the Scotch whisky company that owns The Macallan.

Founded in 1824 in the heart of Speyside, The Macallan was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to be legally licensed. Since then it has built a reputation as one of the world’s leading single malt whiskies. While Cohiba is one of the finest Cuban cigars, crafted in 1966 as a premier cigar brand for diplomatic purposes and was Fidel Castro’s preferred brand.

During the meal courses, there will be a cigarillo break taking place in the outdoor deck of Kayuputi restaurant before dinner re-continues. The evening does not end there. Guests are invited to join in the exclusivity of having a glass of Macallan and a Cohiba cigar at the sophisticated King Cole Bar, while listening to the soothing tunes of a live jazz band featuring the multi-instrumentalist Jimmy Rougerie.
